Ed Stander is not crazy, despite the fact that his instrument of choice was once thought to drive people insane.
Ed plays the Glass Harmonica, a table set of a dozen glasses tuned to pitch and rubbed by the fingers. Invented early in the 18th century, the Glass Harmonica, or musical glasses, was so popular in its day that Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss wrote for the instrument.
Ed has been tinkling the tumblers for over 30 years, and has traveled extensively with his art, creating impromptu concerts across Europe, Asia, and North America. He is believed to have been the first glass player to be arrested on the Great Wall of China, and while he doesn't have any pictures to support his claim, some 20,000 Chinese do...
....and, apart from that, he doesn't appear to be really crazy, though there are always some who would dispute the fact.
